With a 2-6 record midway through the season, you can’t be optimistic in the NFL. The Dolphins think otherwise. Even Miami team coach Mike McDaniel said there are reasons to have real hopes.

With the return of Tua two games ago, the Dolphins’s offense broke out.

Without their starting quarterback, the Miami squad averaged 10 points per game in four outings.

“My hope is true because of the performance I see in the team and progress in caring for the details,” McDaniel said.

The effort I see in the boys, the vigor of the group, makes me believe. They are determined.

McDaniel also noted that last season there was talk of the possibility of Tyreek Hill reaching the 2,000 yards received and in each game captured the ovoid 25-30 times.

In 2023, Hill received 1,799 yards and scored 13 touchdowns in 16 games. In contrast, in this campaign, he barely won 446 yards and a touchdown in eight outs.

McDaniel explained that the defensives had taken Tyreek’s explosive moves into account and prevented them from giving him double-scoring.

In football, if you’re guarded by two rivals for various reasons, the other partners have a great dealer’s chance of taking advantage of the situation.

Tua says Hill’s contribution to the team can be better appreciated when you analyze the video of the games and there you can see the dimension of the versatility of the wide receiver.

His contribution is also in the blockade and in the transport, the quarterback explained.

Tyreek with Jaylen Waddle help create holes for runners. And they also advance to the second level and there we have to take care of them.

In the four games Tua was absent, Hill was wanted 24 times and gained 140 yards. In the last two hits in which the starting quarterback was, the wide receiver was searched 14 times and got 152 yards.

It is true that other options have appeared in the Dolphins’s offense such as De-Von Achane, who, despite being a running back, has captured by air 37 times the ovoid for 302 yards so far this season.

In the 30-27 loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday, Smith caught five passes for 46 yards in his fourth game this season with at least five receptions.

For his part, Raheem Mostert returned after an injury and is very effective in transport.

Meanwhile, rookie running back Jaylen Wright has been delivering remarkable results, and overall the ground attack works.

In the last four games, the team has run the ovoid for more than 140 yards. And when the ground attack works, that offensive is usually insisted on.

There has been quite a lot of progress on the defensive. In the last two games, they have conceded less than 100 yards per ground on each outing.

That unit will be substantially reinforced if the return of captain and veteran defensive tackle Zach Sieler, who trained on Thursday in a limited way and could reappear against the Rams, on Monday night ahead in Los Angeles, after missing two games.

There are many factors that are favorable for the Dolphins, but at the same time the margin of error is increasingly shrinking and it can be said that the surflorida group is experiencing a moment of urgency.

“Yes, urgency is a word that describes our situation well,” Sieler said. No more time to waste. We’re 2-6, we have to clean up some things, go together as a unit and hopefully this date we can do it.

Linebacker Emmanuel Oghah says continued talks with McDaniel help assess the sense of responsibility among players and keep the outlook on the situation.

In the absence of nine games by the end of the regular season, the Dolphins could reach an 11-6 record and advance to the playoffs.

It sounds like a siren song, but Miami team players have commented aloud that if they play just as they did against the Bills, the last date at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, they will be able to beat any NFL team.
