With this new conquest, Real Madrid reaches no more and no less than 15 trophies won in the Champions League, further expanding its dominance in the most important European club competition.

The real was once called the ‘King of Europe’. Since the competition started in 1956, they have won the trophy five times in a row. Another won in 1966. They had to wait 32 years after winning the sixth trophy. But they have been the best in Europe six times in the last 10 years. So once again Madrid won the title of ‘King of Europe’.

However, the match at Wembley started differently. Although Real is very strong on the books, Dortmund showed dominance in the first half of the match. After the start of the game, the game was stopped for some time as the spectators entered the field. Dortmund started attacking football from the start. Keeping the defense frozen, they attacked. Real probably didn’t think Dortmund would attack so much from the start. They were a little surprised.

Dortmund could have gone ahead after 14 minutes. A long ball from Schlotterbeck is caught by Nikolaus Fullkrug in the box. He passed the ball to Julian Brandt. Brand uses a right-footed outstep to tackle defenders. But the ball goes out the post.

Although Lunin was the goalkeeper throughout the season, Real coach Carlo Ancelotti relied on Thibaut Courtois in the final. In the first half, he had to face difficult situations several times. Adeyemi had a good chance after 21 minutes. Before him was only Courtois. But he could not score due to delay. Two minutes later Fullkrug’s shot hit the post. Dortmund could have gone 3-0 up in the first 30 minutes. The way they wasted chances against a team like Real is a crime.

Real’s attack wasn’t as effective. Vinicius Jr., who had the main attacking responsibility, was held back by Dortmund’s defense. Keeping Vinicius’ speed in mind, he was placed in zonal covering. As a result, when he got the ball, three footballers were coming together. Real’s attack was getting stuck in that. Jude Bellingham was unable to break through Dortmund’s solid defense led by Mats Hummels.

After 41 minutes, Dortmund got another chance from every attack. Marcel Sabitzer took a shot from outside the box. Courtois bounced the ball to the right. At the end of the first half, Dortmund got two consecutive corners. They could not use it. Both teams went into the break goalless.

Real increased the attack from the beginning of the second half. After 48 minutes, Vinicius was fouled outside the box and Real got a free kick. Toni Kroos’s deflected shot was saved by Kobel diving to his right. After handling the initial shock, Dortmund tried to attack on both sides. That’s what they were doing in the first half.

Vinicius and Rodrigo began to get the ball on both ends of Real, increasing the pressure in Dortmund’s box. Dani Carvajal got a good ball in the box after 56 minutes. However, he could not score with his right foot volley. Every ball was fought for. No one was leaving an inch of space. In the 62nd minute, Fullkrug got a good chance from Adeyemi’s cross. Courtois parried his strong hat punch. Dortmund could not score despite coming in front of the goal again and again. As a result, frustration was growing among the yellow jersey holders.

Dortmund had to be punished in the second half for wasting multiple chances in the first half. Carvajal scored a header from Cruz’s corner in the 73rd minute. Real goes ahead. Once Dortmund’s defense was breached, Real stepped up their attack. Bellingham could have extended the gap two minutes later. He tried to put the ball at the second post from inside the box. The ball hits Schlotterbeck’s feet and goes wide of the post. In the 79th minute, Cruz’s free-kick was well saved by Kobel.

Dortmund coach Edin Terzic was forced to add more men in attack to score goals. The football they were playing for the first 70 minutes went haywire after conceding a goal. Real started to have more chances. After 82 minutes Vinicius confirmed the result of the game. Bellingham got the ball after Matson’s mistake. He extended the pass to Vinicius. The Brazilian footballer scored with a cool head. Real went ahead 2-0.

Fullkrug scored a header in the 87th minute but it was ruled out for offside. Dortmund could not score in the rest of the period. Once again, Real leaves the field as the best in Europe.
