Armand Duplantis improved his pole vault world record by clearing a bar at 6.26 meters on his second attempt.

The Swedish athlete achieved this victory during the Silesian Diamond League meeting in Chorzow.

Duplantis had set the universal limit at 6.25 m since the last final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on August 5.

This is the tenth time that the American-born athlete, although representing Sweden, has broken the world record for pole vaulting.

He first jumped 5.62m, then 5.92m, and finally 6m to lead the race ahead of Sam Kendricks and Emmanouil Karalis.

In his first attempt at 6.26m, Duplantis missed the jump but in the second he corrected himself and touched the bar.

He set a new world record ahead of the previous world record holder Renaud Lavillenie, who was also competing in Chorzow.
