Serena Williams Reveals Struggle with Benign Cyst Removal

Serena Williams said she had a benign cyst “the size of a small grape” removed  hefromr neck and that “everything was fine.”

She posted on social media Wednesday that she had been found with a lump in her neck last May.

She also had an MRI and was told she didn't need to have it removed if she didn't want to.

After further tests, including a biopsy that came back negative for cancer, her doctors told her she would need to undergo a procedure.

She announced her retirement shortly before playing in the 2022 U.S. Open, her final tournament.
