Real Madrid were crowned La Liga champions last Saturday and are scheduled to receive the trophy next week as a visitor in Granada.
According to reports, the Spanish team does not want to receive the trophy at the Los Cármenes stadium out of “respect for the rival” which could confirm its relegation to the second division on the next date.
The team led by Carlo Ancelotti, was proclaimed La Liga champion last Saturday with four games left, by defeating Cádiz at the Santiago Bernabéu. With Barcelona’s subsequent defeat in Girona, they therefore do not want to receive the trophy in Granada.
To the surprise of not having unified the schedules on the thirty-fourth day of the Real Madrid and Barcelona matches by La Liga, is now added the communication received on Monday morning from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) regarding the presentation of the trophy.
According to sources from the white club, they understand that out of sporting deference to Granada, “out of respect”, it is not the best scenario to receive the cup.

The white club would request that they receive the trophy on Tuesday, May 14 against Alavés at the Santiago Bernabéu, or on the last day of the competition, in which they play at home against Real Betis.
